Explore public Lichess players and games without signing in.

Start exploring

1. Open Explore and enter a Lichess username. 2. Open the player's profile or game list. 3. Use Color, Time control and Opening ECO to narrow the saved games. Select Apply filters after changing them. 4. Open a game for move-by-move review and the evaluations Lichess has already supplied.

Understand the game collection

The game list shows the number of saved games, the player's public game count and the last completed import when known. A saved collection can be partial. One import loads up to 1,000 recent games; it does not promise a player's complete history.

Existing games open from the cache. Use the refresh/import action to update the collection. Changing a filter searches the saved collection and does not silently download a new history.

Unknown players, empty results and import errors have separate messages. If filters return no games, clear the filters or import more recent games.

Available analysis

Opening statistics and game details use the saved collection. Missing engine evaluations are shown as missing. Chess Analytics does not run its own engine.
