Game Fetching and Cache

Chess Analytics saves public Lichess games so repeat visits can reuse their moves, clocks and available evaluations.

Import and refresh

An import downloads up to 1,000 recent games. The page shows progress, the saved game count and whether the collection covers only part of the player's history.

Requests for the same running import share its progress. One import runs at a time. If another import is active, wait and retry when the page allows it. After a completed import, wait a minute before refreshing that player again.

When Lichess asks us to wait

The import displays a waiting state, waits a minute and retries once. If Lichess is still limiting requests, the page explains that the import should be retried later. There is no promise of a fixed Lichess request quota.

Interrupted imports

Closing a progress view does not erase saved games. If the server restarts or an import fails, the completed part of the collection remains available. Start the import again from the player's page. Already saved games are updated by game ID instead of duplicated.

Clocks and evaluations

Clocks are stored in seconds with fractional precision. Only evaluations provided by Lichess are displayed; a missing evaluation is not treated as zero. A zero evaluation remains a valid equal-position score.
